Random sayings are a concept new to a generation raised on satire-based television comedy, odd Youtube videos, and social networking websites like Myspace and Facebook. One the one hand, mainstream humor is increasingly relying on cleverly mocking and satirizing to get laughs, making the absurd and the strange into the status quo. On the other hand, large groups of people online are able to quickly create and share new kinds of humor. This new humor can almost create a new language online, a language of "lolcats" and other phenomenon that makes no sense to outsiders.
